Lean Methodology

Six Sigma

What is Six Sigma? It’s a statistical process used to reduce and remove process variability by focusing on the removal of defects in the process to ensure quality output. A Six Sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of the products produced are defect free, or 3.4 defects per million opportunities. Six Sigma relies heavily on the use of the Seven Quality Tools, which are:

  • Fishbone Diagram
  • Checksheet
  • Control Chart
  • Histogram
  • Pareto
  • Scatter Plot Diagram
  • Stratification
